You know your in a dead, man-powered church if your submitting the leaders letting THEM run your life, instead of submitting to GOD letting HIM run your life. In a living Church, God is working, and the people are humbled. The people, even the elders are lowly and humble not boastfull and proud, in Gods church people... are passionate about God and what he can do, not the Church and what it can do.
Dead churches dispense Mans wisdom, the preahers have a BS in psychology and Marketing. Oh, they empower people sure enough, and loyalty is to the Church or the preacher not to God. They are full of expectations and rules.."Come be who we want you to be" replaces "Come as you are." Your punch'n a clock, there every...time the doors are open, working for "God" and not letting God work in you.
When you're accepted and embraced and loved, you are free to be who you are, and when exposed to the truth about who HE is, u r humbled before him and he changes you. Allow HIM to do the changing of people and realize that we are only called to love people and lift him up. I...t's about letting HIM do HIS work. A living God, a living Church, beautiful.
The Lord chooses the foolish things of this world to shame the wise.
